Two favorite poems I'm re-reading today:
"Jellyfish Eggs" by Gregory Orfalea
The setting and last seven lines are the most touching.
I feel quite nostalgic for the Chesapeake Bay area whenever I re-read Orfalea's poem.

Also, another favorite poem for today:
Mikhail Naimy (or Nu'aymah, considered for the Nobel Prize in Literature): "Close Your Eyes And See," translated by J.R. Perry
This poem reminds me of an inspirational memoir that I'm currently reading by an international human rights activist, Amanda Lindhout, titled "A House in the Sky."
Elie Wiesel, Nu'aymah and Amanda Lindhout remind me of the inner strength, optimism, determination and self-confidence required to become more emotionally resilient in the face of great challenges.

A favorite Lao Tzu quote for today:
"At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want."
I love that quote, for when I've had to take action quickly while staying focused/centered, develop military leadership skills and become decisive under pressure.
