The housing market is fueling more construction, but hopefully, with safer, brand new, Caterpillar equipment. The cost to steelworkers and construction workers is quite high, using old equipment that could cause them severe, physical injuries. The reality is, they are impoverished, minority, day laborers with no health benefits, GEDs, or job security. At the least, Caterpillar needs to work out a bulk discount rate to donate $20 million U.S.D. worth of brand new equipment to the Small Business Administration.
