Dude, Civilians & Guns Are A Suspicious Combination:

It's unusual but I actually, deep down expect that a person with a gun is probably in the U.S. military. It's because I'm a city slicker from D.C. Metro. I have actually only seen people hunting on television, or in the movies.

I also, somehow, don't consider gun control in the same manner as this article describes, which is that most guns are not needed, or are black market. Police and military use them. I assume they're used to being attached to them, like a third arm, or a natural extension of their bodies. Even more strangely, I actually expect a "gun" to mean a rifle, subconsciously.

I do know the difference between the two, but I have to admit that I feel bewildered if people have not trained, and drilled in the U.S. military with a rifle, yet own a gun. I don't think Hollywood's depiction of civilian law enforcement is the reality, however I just can't trust what I don't personally know.

Also, how is it that a convicted pedophile got rejected for the U.S. Army, yet managed to become an Army Ranger? I can't trust the civilian, or Army process for gun ownership, unless I feel it exceeded U.S. Navy boot camp standards, e.g. U.S. Marshal's training, and there was also a ten-year, criminal background check.
