In Colorado, it would be wise and compassionate to hold fundraising benefits for free HIV, Hepatitis C testing, an extension of their unemployment benefits for a year, free scholarships for bilingual I.B. diplomas, and free elderly care facilities since many of the unemployed factory workers were taking care of the elderly in their families.
Hopefully, there can be a transitional program, to teach them how to type 65 wpm (words per minute), administrative assistance skills, at the public high schools and community colleges. Maybe they can work for Americorps, or Peace Corps also. The males and all minorities should be included also.
Some of them were denied entry to the U.S. military because they did not meet the high school diploma qualifications. Of that group, please see if there can be an NRA-funded, free, bilingual, two year/twenty-four month long, CDL license, A+, CCNA, MCSE, firefighting and police academy bootcamp for them. If they perform well, maybe they can get a civilian position at the U.S. military bases.
