I was stung in Hampton Beach by a large, soccer-ball sized one, definitely blue-colored, but fortunately I was taking physician- prescribed vitamins and walking three miles/day, everyday, beforehand. It can be serious for the very fragile, pregnant, elderly, or the very young. Mostly its body brushed up against me, more than its legs/trailing tentacles.
I got severely abused, after being stung by that bluebottle/Portuguese Man o' War, which is quite traumatic. If you're in the ocean with an abuser, they'll most likely shove you into the bluebottle, or Portuguese Man o' War "jellyfish" on purpose. That's another case of aggravated assault with a weapon that's happened to me
It did feel extremely painful at the stung, red, slightly-raised site (covering 1/2 of my right calf), but I didn't lose consciousness in the water. It's like being hit by lightning/electrocuted, and the pain was a seven on scale of one to ten. Childbirth without an epidural is a ten, on that same scale. I was only 88 pounds (at 4'11 and 3/4), disabled and abused, which is why it was more severely painful for me.
It seriously hurt (referring to the electrical injury pain) for over two weeks, but the pain started to dramatically fade after one week. Loss of consciousness is a risk with the bluebottle/Portuguese Man o' War "jellyfish," which can cause a drowning death, extended, unconscious state, fever, or severe, life-threatening shock, heart and lung impairment.
The Hampton (Victoria, Australia) tides can bring a large group of them into the shallower areas, 20 feet deep, close to shore, quite rapidly though. Sometimes the tides can be extremely powerful, with a large amount of seaweed-covered, sharp coral beds, that you can be thrown towards, there.
If swimming, wear pool/water shoes, a full wetsuit, and avoid going out without a local lifeguard present. I found that it's safest, as usual, to just avoid swimming in the beach. It's beautiful for late afternoon walks on the shoreline though.

It's best to see a medical doctor following any jellyfish or bluebottle "jellyfish" sting. The challenge is if you're being abused about seeing your medical doctors, then the abusers will escalate their violence towards you. I took a dose of Aussie Tylenol, called paracetamol, by mouth, then cleaned the sting site.
Everyday, three times per day, I disinfected, then applied an over-the-counter, numbing, lidocaine & hydrocortisone ointment with an antiseptic for insect bites. I took a dose of paracetamol by mouth everyday for a week. It didn't scar, or get too swollen. Some doctors actually treat those types of stings with hospitalization, oxygen, prescription-grade cortisone, lidocaine, and morphine.
The worse thing was being severely abused for it, as a disabled veteran, then punished repeatedly, including by Caucasian police, for telling my V.A. doctor about it. I saw many V.A. doctors, and one Caucasian, female, Princeton University, M.D. even sexually assaulted me there. Sometimes I think it was because I refused the abortion pill she offered me, but I wasn't even pregnant at the time, Focus On The Family. If one half of that tax increase goes towards caring for the elderly firefighters, than it should be approved. Financial compensation should at least be: 75% annually, of their salaries, before being illegally laid off, for twenty years, with 15% increased per year, every year, of their annual salaries for inflation.
I highly encourage all military veterans, Evergreen residents to rally support and find pro bono, successful trial, not mediation-oriented, legal representation for our firefighters to bring an ageism, disablism, class-action lawsuit against the Evergreen Fire District, to properly allocate any mill-levy increases for our elderly, disabled, or deceased, disabled firefighters. Firefighters, not just medical professionals, EMTs and police officers, are at extremely elevated risks for HIV, and hepatitis C.

This funding (accounting) shortfall needs to be investigated by the A.C.L.U. To D.E.A. S.O.D.: COMSUBPAC MWR
Remember not to trust gang-signaling, rapist Troy, a sailor/gay male model. He distributed CK One cologne, but that was one percenter gang signaling. I love that the poor children can get Total and Wheatie's cereal, along with canned, turkey, or salmon, pre-cooked, from Big Lots. There's a good selection of laundry detergent at the Dollar Store (Tide Free) also. There are many consignment and thrift stores for the poor children to buy their needed school clothes, on tight budgets.
Little things like that make me happy about the state of the world. There were times as a teen, when I worked forty hours per week, went to school, raced to one job, then, a second job, followed by babysitting, or volunteering. From age seven, I did tons of laundry at the dangerous laundrymats in that area.
Sometimes, as a teen, I had to work two cashier/retail/fast food jobs, plus babysitting, cleaning, and household errands. Bible study became too much, although now, at the least, from hours of NIV tutoring, I feel somewhat literate about one-third of the books in it.
I hope everyone is now guilted into rummaging in their houses for fully illustrated, colorful, children's Bibles, to donate, for seven year-old ESL students. A nearby church gave me one at that age, which I treasured and it helped me learn to read in English. Noah's Ark, fully illustrated, was what made me a lifelong bookworm.
At that time, I was still enrolled in the English as a Second Language curriculum at the crime-ridden, elementary school. I was often trading baseball cards, from bubble gum packets, with Mexican-American children/friends, at the nearby playground, and probably socially acceptable to the Spanglish-speaking boys more than the South Vietnamese-American girls.
Someone had a boy at church, whose clothing and shoes were donated to me. In case I need to explain why I was a fashion disaster, it was because I had to wear a ton of boys' clothes and sneakers, and had two long, ponytails. That prevented me from being spoiled, or vain, so it was a blessing in disguise.
My fastest pair of boys' sneakers were a blue, and white striped one at that age. If it wasn't for the Falls Church, Virginia, First Presbyterian Church nearby, with its beautiful steps, holiday events, and ringing bells every Sunday, I would not have become literate or emotionally resilient.
I hope everyone remembers this when it's time to put money into the church collection basket there. Otherwise, the poor children in that area won't get their nutritional needs met, donated clothes, children's Bibles, or have any spiritual anchor, during all those multi-racial gang wars, and that endless era of nightly helicopters with search lights looking for one fugitive after another.

Journal: Free Writing Exercises
There's nothing more amazing to me than those air plants that I stuck on my moss rock fireplace when my son was in third grade. It had been another terribly challenging gardening season, where I had to replace the indoor plants even, because I didn't know how to garden in the Rocky Mountains.
Can anyone bioengineer air plants to look, and smell like a field of Provencal lavender? Or, more importantly, can anyone figure out why I didn't just go with a pre-planned, zone 3, deer-resistant, garden kit, from High Country Gardens? I wish H.C.G. would make wall calendars for gardeners, as a phone app. That way, I could have been reminded to mulch at a certain time, per my zone requirements.
Three things to avoid saying in Colorado:
1. Why not plant the non-native plants from South Africa only this year?
2. How are 3/4" granite rocks in a gravel driveway a "xeriscape garden"?
3. I know that you just threw away those dead indoor plants and simply repotted a bunch of full-grown, ZZ plants from Loews, Dude.
***In Virginia, there's actual rose gardens and cherry blossom trees. Georgia was full of actual, giant live oaks, and wild, magnolia trees. I long for Decatur, Georgia and the public transport system there. I miss the cafe au lait and beignets in Underground Atlanta. The management at the Stone Mountain Apartment complex I lived in were African-American, females, and celebrated babies.
