Two Bad Standards For Defining A "Good" Day For All Mums:

Redefining A "Good Day" For Poor Mums:

1. Nobody ever died because you didn't have the energy to sort all laundry twice and check for crayons before the dryer cycle. What seems tragic today in your twenties is truly relaxing compared to global security issues, e.g. the entire female population in the Congo, and Asian Pacific Region are currently half-dead, from vicious gang rapists in international drug cartels.

2. The "Joneses" that you're trying to keep up with are not nice to you. Turn them over, and remember, keeping "up" with them is more about classism than social propriety. If you're not a fan of chlorine bleach, just soak everything bleachable (2 loads worth) in warm water, 4 cups of unscented, liquid detergent with oxyclean and four cups of the enzyme cleaner (orange gallon from PetsMart for cat urine) for 24 hours before laundering. Having the brightest whites, or most organized quilting fabrics in your laundry isn't as important as getting some creative writing time to art journal, read, write poetry, do needlepoint or crotchet.
