...and just to add in my two cents worth, I hope everyone understands that each culture is different in physical proximity between same sex, non-romantic friends also. In some cultures, men kiss other men on the cheek, and link arms together, as a gesture of friendship.

This is something that can be challenging for most Americans, to see two same gendered individuals that close to each other. Most of the time, Asians and Pacific Islanders stand quite close to each other. Girls in or from South Vietnam sometimes link arms as kids also. In Bali, there are very different manners of dress for the women than here in the mainland U.S.

Now, this will likely lead to a larger civil rights lawsuit against the state. Try to settle this immediately, with a longer-term, fiscally-sound strategy, involving a release from jail, a waiver from community service, and an expunged record for her.

Both sides have their civil rights. This can be settled quite reasonably out of court, in mediation. Furthermore, the woman in jail may be a battered woman, with Battered Woman Syndrome. I don't trust any of her healthcare providers either.
