Office Holidays Gift Giving/Secret Santa/Corporate Gift Ideas:

Now that you're struggling with the idea of whose name(s) you drew for the office gift giving, and what to get them, go get them a nice, black, executive pen and refillable, black ink cartridge set. The type that has check fraud protection/non-washable ink is best. No matter what, it isn't controversial.

Spending too much will cause office in-fighting and rumors of favoritism. Sometimes it's best to be boring and stick to identical pen sets for everybody. Nothing is better than a boring boss, no matter how exciting other departments' bosses seem to the company.

What employees truly want is job security at this time of year. It's best to explain how everybody's job is truly more secure now, broadcast positive news about upcoming promotions, bonuses and raises at this time of year.

Also, remind everyone that you're there to "encourage equal opportunity employment, in order to close the gender gap," not "whistleblowing, purely for increasing bottom line profits/streamlining purposes," or "feminist leadership."

Everytime someone is disciplined/fired/"laid-off," send out a warm memo, to everyone, for team-building purposes, congratulating another employee, on their new baby/adopted/fostered baby, for instance. In the military, nothing could warm my heart more at work than those birth announcements.

If you're an introverted executive/manager, organize a company-wide memo/email, and gather people up for a potluck, at work, or to place their orders for a holiday lunch event at work, e.g. a catered lunch, at work, once a week, until the second week of New Year's.

Keep it non-alcoholic, and focus on culinary diversity. International, assorted tapas, and h'ors d'oeuvres are best. Instead of dessert, place a tower of sugar-free, fair-wage, organic chocolate truffes on a side table for everybody to take home.
