To F.D.A.: Dr. Hirschman:

A new mass extinction could be underway

The American rainforests and mangroves will somehow need to be re-established. If we could bioengineer faster-growing, drought-resistant, Japanese pine beetle-resistant, faster-growing trees that could remove 75% more air pollution, that would be best for us. The USGS and EPA researchers desperately need their research grants approved though, for this to become a reality. Red Tide threatens our fragile eco-system, but there are few grants to assist in a bioengineering solution, e.g. sterilization of the red tide blooms, to prevent growth.
