I absolutely love this language and hope it can be celebrated, as it was the "Common/Vulgar Latin" language brought by Roman middle- and slave- classes into Switzerland. It's actually the mother language for all Romance languages. I actually have family friends from there also. There are still remnants of Celtic (Irish Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic, Welsh, Breton, and Scottish Pictish) vocabulary within it, however it's a combination of Latin and German mostly.
