Writing Prompts For Adult ESL Students: On All Those 'Isms & Strong Action Verbs

Writing Prompts For Adult ESL Students:

Remember those movie theater previews that have some ominous, deep, booming voice saying, "Imagine a world where...."

Now, open your writing journals, and start with that sentence.

Here's an example:

Imagine a world where Ms. Jay from America's Top Model television show was perched next to a wheelchair-bound, disabled, Southern, neoconservative U.S. Navy SEAL.

Imagine Ms. Jay whispering in a Virginian accent, while dressed in a Japanese, ancient samurai warrior's kimono.

What would Ms. Jay be sayin' in a Scarlett O'Hara accent to him, hmmm? Try to include the following themes/motifs: disablism, regionalism, classism, ageism, racism, sexism, and sizism.

Start the second paragraph with a sword fight between Ms. Jay and the disabled SEAL. Make sure the story includes pphysical descriptions of self-defense techniques, approved by Krav Maga instructors, or Israeli Special Forces, to prevent carjackings at gun point.

***AJ Draven from KMW Krav Maga has YouTube videos on carjacking self-defense techniques for writing inspiration.***

100 Action Verbs in Spanish:
***Try to use all of them, and write the entire story in Spanglish.***
