Jihadists tend to be:

Ex-convicts, with prior criminal records, serving prison terms among terrorist recruiters radicalized them (similarly to the Latin Kings gang)

Well-educated

Graduates of a college (university) degree program, yet be in a low-paying job

Technical, and/or engineering background
(Although this conflicts with other security analysts, see the next degree/educational background)

At university, majored in arts/humanities
(Possibly film-making also, because the recent ISIL terrorists in the news have "slick"/professional-level, graphic, Hollywood production videos, for spreading wide-spread panic, and jihadist recruitment efforts)

Politically-motivated, more than a monastic, devoutly Muslim, religious focus
(Not found at those mosque study groups, or eating halal at mosque fundraisers, but the ones who are secretly pimping prostitutes, or gang-raping homeless elderly, with their former prison mates)

Second-generation immigrants of legal residents in the West (if not a convert to radical Islam)

From intact, upstanding, "nurturing" homes/families

Upper and middle class, socioeconomic  backgrounds

Married, with children
(Or, divorced, or engaged)

Living in a predominantly Caucasian area, rather than a Muslim "ghetto"

Converting from Christianity
