Another Adult Fractured Fairy Tale Draft

The Knight Named "baby sean" : A "True" Story
by "Ricky, the NYC Vice Cop Sock Puppet"

There once lived a knight named "baby sean" in the time before Stonehenge was built. He had a dome treehouse that he squatted in, near the Vermont maple syrup groves. He frequently went to the local bear cave, to take steam baths. Inside was a gigantic labyrinth of candlelit tunnels and other caves, glittering with stalactites and treasures befitting a king. Ruby-encrusted thrones were cushioned with velvet, so plush one could sleep in pairs of two's...There he secretly met a gorgeous woman named Ariel.

She had eyes of dark amber, with long, curly, black hair. Ariel and "baby sean" were not allowed to meet, because her family were very controlling. They wanted better for her than a simple knight. Her father was the King of the Sky-People. "b.s." ("baby sean") was a knight for the Mid-Earthlings, who dwelled in the tree-tops.

He had looked down at age eight, and fell in love with her, as she slept in a lily pad-shaped bed, nestled in a tree trunk. She had climbed down to his world, quite by accident. Her sapphire silk dress was wrinkled and torn. She'd lost a slipper to the Ground-Earth world, below his realm. He carefully descended and retrieved it. Then, silently put it back onto her foot, as she snored on her lily pad bed, borrowed from his neighbor, who had recently moved, leaving it vacant.

He caught a butterfly, along with two daddy-long legs, and released it next to her sleeping face. Then, he hid in the shadows, watching her awake with it on her nose. He counted her eyelashes in his mind. She peered into the shadows, captivated by the rustling tree leaves around his head. He looked like a king with a crown of scarlet-red, Autumn leaves. His training sword glinted in the shadows. It was decorated with moonstones and pewter. A strange symbol of a ruby-red Easter egg was on the sword's handle. That was how they first met.

After school, each day afterwards, he'd peer down at the lily pad bed, where she would go to take her afternoon nap. She never exchanged any spoken words with him for at least a week, until one day he heard her speak. She asked, with her American accent, "What's your name?" He replied, "Sean, but they call me baby sean all the time," with an Irish accent. Their accents were as different as their worlds. Her kingdom ruled over the planes, and sky station. His realm was the tree level. He didn't know anything about planes, only how to collect eggs from birds' nests. His hands were callused from spinning his sword at knight-school. He talked, but very rudely most of the time. She noticed how he never curtsied to the rain, as she had been taught to do, at her "beauty school." Also, he wasn't required to wear the torso-sash typical for men in the sky-world. He had nothing in common with her, but still she kept visiting him, every single day.
