Growing Wild Virginia Strawberries As A Groundcover

http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/strawberry/growing-wild-strawberries.htm

I miss the white flowering, wild strawberries and wild, green onions that dotted the hillsides of Northern Virginia. It was a shame to dig out an area of my backyard, which had those, in order to establish a small, Southeast Asian culinary herb garden. Wild strawberries seem more suitable in Colorado as a suburban/city hanging basket, as it's not rabbit, or deer resistant. The wild birds, especially in the mountains would also get to it without netting/fencing.
