Bar Harbor Forbidden Rice Pilaf (for the miso-gingered eggrolls)

Coconut Rice Pilaf with Pineapple, Galangal Root, Ginger and Lemongrass. The Bar Harbor part is from the clam broth in the recipe.

Steam the red, forbidden rice with organic, brown, Thai, jasmine rice grains in reduced-fat coconut cream and clam broth (50/50 ratio of coconut cream and clam broth). Add 2 tbl per cup of dry, uncooked rice grains of freshly ground saffron threads for color and fragrance. A mix of 30% red, forbidden rice grains and 70% brown jasmine rice is good. Prewash the rice grains three times in warm water, to soften and clean the grains, prior to steaming it in a rice steamer.

8 cups organic rice grains, including red, forbidden rice

16 tbl saffron, freshly ground, organic

4 cups of drained, organic pineapple tidbits, in natural juices only, sugar-free, high fructose corn syrup-free: drained, warmed up, then added at the end, into the pilaf

4 cups of organic coconut cream, unsweetened, and reduced-fat
(increase to 4 and a half cups for higher altitude)

4 cups of clam broth, Bar Harbor brand
(increase to 4 and a half cups for higher altitude)

5 bunches of organic, Thai purple basil leaves, fresh, stems removed, washed, pluck all the leaves off the stems and use that only. Chop leaves into 1/4-inch pieces. Mix this in as a garnish to the rice, after steaming it.

Steam the rice with 3 total cups of:

Fresh, peeled, organic galangal root, finely-minced, 1 cup

Fresh, peeled, organic ginger root, finely-minced, 1 cup

Fresh, organic lemongrass puree, from the refrigerated tubes, 1 cup

***Add an extra 3 cups of water to steam these ingredients also. Make that 3 and a half cups of water for higher altitude.***

***Use a mixer or blender to get the ingredients, excluding rice grains, pineapple or Thai basil all mixed together with the liquids for the rice steamer.***

***Serve this with the miso-gingered eggrolls (recipe in previous post.***

***We should have an annual Hawaiian luau fundraiser, so we can get a 10-acre organic, soup kitchen/food bank/WIC/shelter-assigned small farm to the interfaith community in every state. That way they can afford to continue meeting the nutritional needs of the community with the local, seasonally available, healthier foods, and organic chicken eggs grown on their small, organic farm.

This would be healthier than having the poor elderly and children eat donated spam, canned tuna or peanut butter as their only source of proteins. We can allocate 10-acres per 1,000 impoverished families for this educational, compassionate kitchen herb garden. That way, states with the most malnourished, illiterate immigrants would get a fairer allotment.

We can help our new immigrant community better, if we provide them the literacy, tools and space for growing their own nutritious, antioxidant-rich foods and herbs. Many states will need to build giant, solar-powered greenhouses on these small farms for the tropical and subtropical foods. They will need free farming, fishing and hunting lessons (bilingual) so they can provide for their families also.

This would be an excellent NRA fundraiser for the poorest English-language learners within our local communities to have literacy about their constitutional rights, donated, child-proofed gun safes, fishing/hunting licenses, donated prescription eyeglasses, donated appropriate boots, donated outerwear and 0% APR-financed, pre-owned trucks for meeting their families' nutritional needs.

We can ask the NRA (especially their Paxton Quigleys) to provide the educated, female, minority, bilingual literacy in a classroom setting at all of the local, state-funded universities. One educator per 100 English-language, adult learners would be a realistic, fundraising goal.  The universities could provide them with the free facilities and pro-bono, bilingual translators, if needed. They would need at least 40 hours of classroom instruction, per adult English-learner.***
