Natural Leather Dyes (Bark, Plant-based)

Valonia acorn cups:
Luxury leather goods natural dye

Myrobalan fruit

Sicilian sumac leaves

Quebrachro wood:
This increases the leather's durability, which is especially good for equestrian saddle leather, motorcycle saddle bags or equestrian, backpacking and motorcycle boots.

Chestnut wood:
Often used for full-grain, denser-weight leathers

Birch bark:
Pleasant-smelling (which is useful for factories located near cities/denser population)

Wattle:
This grows in Australia, so it may be a more water-wise choice.

Tara fruit

***The types of natural leather dyes can give a naturally pleasant scent (birch bark), or increase its durability or softness/pliability (pliability would be important for custom bicycling gloves). Willow bark is an excellent leather dye choice, as it can be sourced locally, economically, organically and ethically.**
